Veolia ‘s mission commits the company to mobilize for the climate: “Resourcing the world”, means developing access to resources, as well as preserving and recycling them, by inventing a low carbon economy in each region, in collaboration with local stakeholders and policy makers. It also means adopting new uses of resources, more restrained and efficient, notably by developing renewable sources of energy.
In Lima we wanted to show that co-construction with regions is a key to combating climate change. Local stakeholders, communities, businesses, and NGOs are all part of the solution for the climate". Already, in eight latin American countries, a region which is particularly vulnerable to climate change, Veolia is developing public private water and waste management partnerships.
