The 8th China Solid Waste Strategy Forum was held in Beijing on December 13, where the 2014 Solid Waste Industry Award results were announced. Veolia China, as the leader of the industry, was once again named one of China’s 10 most influential companies in solid waste industry.
The contributions of Veolia in China are widely recognized by the judges, including its long-term planning for the future while addressing the challenges currently present in the field of hazardous waste in China. The judges also appreciated the global benchmark in environmental services brought by Veolia, and its role as a professional operator.
The evaluation criteria of the Solid Waste Award in 2014 was different from last year’s: instead of a single group of judges, there were 5 camps of joint judges led by the organizer E20, including experts on solid waste, well-known research institutions in capital market, media and netizens. The selection criteria no longer focused solely on the size of the companies, but combined the quantitative and qualitative indicators of market, investment and financing capacity, branding, management ability, entrepreneurs and corporate.
Mr. Zhou Xiaohua, General Manager of waste activity of Veolia China, shared his opinions on the future trend of development at the forum. He believed recycling would be the future trend, which was also the direction of Veolia. He stressed that the value of solid waste management in China lies in resource recovery and proper recycling at the end of production chain.
