Tianjin Hazardous Waste Integrated Treatment Centers (Phase 1: Hejia Center & Phase 2: Binhai Hejia Center)
Tianjin Hazardous Waste Integrated Treatment Centers (Phase 1: Hejia Center & Phase 2: Binhai Hejia Center)
Veolia and its partners have designed, constructed and now operate Tianjin Hazardous Waste Integrated Treatment Centers (Phase 1: Hejia). This is the first treatment and disposal center in China integrating incineration, physical & chemical treatment, secure landfill and resource recycling.
The Phase 1 Center treats and disposes industrial hazardous waste, medical waste and hazardous chemical waste. Of the 49 types of hazardous wastes defined by Chinese regulation, the center treats 48 types except the explosives. Its annual capacity is 57,800 metric tons including 13,500 metric tons by incineration, 10,000 metric tons by physical-chemical treatment, 10,100 metric tons by landfilling, 8,000 metric tons by material recycling, and 16,200 metric tons of medical waste through non-incineration treatment.
Following the success of Phase 1 Hejia Center, Veolia is now operating Phase 2 Binhai Hejia Center located in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Park. The Binhai Hejia Center strengthens Veolia's support in the collection, transportation, storage and treatment of toxic and hazardous solid waste in the region. Its annual treatment capacity is 45,300 metric tons including 30,000 tons by incineration, 10,000 tons by physiochemical treatment and 5,300 tons of solidification.

Guangdong hazardous waste comprehensive treatment demonstrative center (Huizhou)
Guangdong hazardous waste comprehensive treatment demonstrative center (Huizhou)
Guangdong Hazardous Waste Comprehensive Treatment Demonstration Center Phase I project (Huizhou) is one of the 31 hazardous waste comprehensive treatment centers listed in the “Construction Program for Hazardous Waste and Medical Waste Treatment Facilities in China”. The Centre is the start-up project of the five hazardous waste treatment centers listed in “The Tenth Five-Year Environmental Protection Plan of Guangdong Province”. This is the first large-scale treatment and demonstration project constructed by Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau.
Huizhou Dongjiang Veolia Environmental Services Co., Ltd was founded in 2005 by Veolia and his Chinese partner. The joint venture is responsible for investment, design, construction and operation of the Demonstration Center (Phase I).
The main treatment methods of the Center (Phase I) include incineration, stabilization/ solidification and safety landfill, physical/chemical treatment. Of the 49 types of hazardous wastes defined by the Chinese regulation, the center treats 45 types except the HW01 medical waste, HW 10 PCBs, HW15 explosive waste and HW29 mercury waste. Its annual capacity is 83,000 tons including 10,000 tons by incineration, 33,000 tons by physical-chemical treatment and 40,000 tons by landfilling.
The second Phase of the project will include one incinerator with its supporting facilities of an annual capacity of 30,000 tons. The trial operation of Phase 2 project is expected to begin on 30 June 2017.

Chemical Waste Treatment Facilities
Chemical Waste Treatment Facilities
The Chemical Waste Treatment Facilities (CWTF) is the only chemical waste treatment facility in Hong Kong. Being one of the most comprehensive and sophisticated hazardous waste treatment facilities in Asia, it is designed and operated according to very stringent international environmental and safety standards. It provides a cradle-to-grave solution for all land-based chemical waste generated in Hong Kong, disposal of clinical waste, as well as collection and treatment services for marine pollutants (MARPOL waste) generated from ocean-going vessels.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Veolia, Ecospace Limited was awarded the 10-year follow-on upgrade and operation contract of the CWTF in 2009. Prior to that, the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Government has awarded design, build and operation (DBO) contract to Enviropace Limited (same parent company as Ecopsace) in 1990.
Services provided by the CWTF include:
