One objective: optimize the energy footprint of MSF's projects, including deployment of solar energy in field installations.
In addition to financial support, the Veolia Foundation assists MSF by providing technical expertise through the "Veoliaforce" network of expert employees trained to intervene in emergency humanitarian missions.
Trial of the MSF – The Veolia Foundation partnership
MSF has fought against malaria since 2010 in Moissala in southern Chad and provides care for children under the age of five for whom the disease is the main cause of death. With the support of the Veolia Foundation, MSF will be installing solar photovoltaic panels to supply electricity. The site chosen for this trial is very isolated and will provide the mission with an autonomous energy supply.
Other examples of work - The Veolia Foundation partnership
- In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Veolia and MSF provided access to better quality water for 90,000 citizens in Kalemie (Katanga) by extending the city's drinking water network in 2012 to fight against cholera.
- In 2014, Veolia installed and tested the "Aquaforce500" emergency water treatment plant with MSF in Sudanese refugee camps in northern Uganda.
