"Together, committed to the environment!" Veolia rewards its employees’ personal initiatives for the planet

Launched on the 5th of June, on World Environment Day, the “Together, committed to the environment!" operation invites Group employees to share their day-to-day contributions to protecting the environment.

38 countries contributed to this second edition, with participation up 40% from last year. The jury - representatives of the sustainable development, human resources and communications departments -selected and rewarded 42 personal initiatives, including:
  • In the Philippines, protecting biodiversity by building artificial ocean reefs.
  • ​In Oman, watering trees on a farm using the water collected by a drip system, thus reducing water consumption by 70%.
  • In Poland, recovering heat from a chimney conduit to heat a workshop using a homemade system.
  • In Spain, contributing to reforesting areas devastated by forest fires by planting a drought-resistant species of tree.

Resourcing the world also depends on the personal commitment of Veolia employees all over the world.
