For three months, from 10 June to 10 September 2017, five million people will visit the international exhibition in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The choice of theme "What energy for the future?" is that of a country committed to environmental issues, in particular through the sustainable and rational exploitation of its natural resources and the development of renewable energy. In Pècs, Hungary, 170,000 inhabitants in the city are heated by a 100% biomass cogeneration heating network with a 35 MW power station using straw, and a 50 MW power station using wood residues. This solution avoids the emission of 400,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Learn more.
In Marseille, France, the swimming pools at the Cercle des Nageurs de Marseille (CNM) are heated thanks to Energido, a solution that recovers heat from wastewater using a reversible heat pump that feeds the swimming pool’s heating network. In addition to the energy savings achieved by the CNM, 203 tonnes of CO2 emissions are avoided annually.
