These three awards are significant recognition to HKDCJV for its commitment and continuous efforts in providing and nurturing a safe and healthy working environment for our staff, client and subcontractors.
The Silver Award - Considerate Contractors Site Award for Repair, Maintenance, Alteration and Addition (RMAA) Works Contracts, is to acknowledge the Company’s commitment and contribution to a safe working environment, hence achieving an excellent record of “zero accidents” at the Kai Tak District Cooling location since 2014.
In the same occasion, Mr. T.K. Chan, Technician in the Operations Department, was recognised as the Best Model Worker Award due to his active participation in occupational safety and health activities and constructive suggestions shared with the management. T.K.’s participation in the Company’s “I see I act” safety promotion scheme has set an excellent example to influence his peers on upholding the importance of a safe working environment. He is the sole awardee in this award category. While Mr. Li Chi Keung, Supervisor of the Maintenance Department, was bestowed the Model Frontline Supervisor Award, in recognition of his leadership in initiating occupational safety and health campaigns as well as his efforts in motivating his team members to participate in relevant activities.
Co-organized by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the Construction Industry Council, the Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme is aiming to encourage contractors and subcontractors to work at all times in a responsible and considerate manner by providing a safe and healthy environment within and on the periphery of the site, safeguarding the safety of the staff, its neighbors and the general public.

Chris Chong, Managing Director of HKDCJV and Hong Kong District Cooling Company Limited (HKDC), attributes the awards to his team. “It is a great honor for our team to receive these three awards, this city-wide recognition reaffirms our team’s efforts in occupational health and safety. HKDCJV, a joint venture company of Veolia and operated by HKDC, was awarded the design-build-operate of the District Cooling System at the Kai Tak Development in Hong Kong. The district cooling system is the first-of-its-kind energy efficient air-conditioning system implemented by the HKSAR Government in the new development areas.
